Whole Staff Development on Recycling in our School
Gina Bonomo, of the Howard County Public Works office, came to a faculty meeting on March 4, 2019, and shared data about our school's recycling use. Additionally, Gina gave suggestions on ways we can reduce our waste and increase our recycling efforts. She emphasized how saving energy saves the environment as well as the school system's money. Conservation measures, such as using power strips, not propping open doors and turning off computers when not in use were encouraged. At the end of the presentation, faculty and staff were given the opportunity to ask questions, and also were given the opportunity to sign up for tours of the Alpha Ridge Landfill and/or the single stream recycling center in Elkridge, MD.
